Recently, I visited a small jewellery and artefacts museum in Jaipur, India. There was no one else there — just me and my partner. We had had a far-from-easy day (to say the least) and almost skipped it altogether. We were tired and overwhelmed, but it was our last day in the city and I thought if not now who knows when we will next be back.

Oh my, I’m so glad we went.

The man at the front desk turned out to be more than a receptionist, he was a wellspring of knowledge about the pieces on display. Although he didn’t speak much English, my partner translated as he shared gem after gem of wisdom: stories from his family, insights into traditional practices, and symbolic meanings hidden in each design.

Jewellery, he explained, wasn’t simply worn — it was a dynamic, daily expression of life’s many layers: love and marriage, spirituality, protection, power.

I want to share a little of what he shared with me — so that you too can begin to see how the practice of adorning ourselves can be deeply intentional, meaningful, even spiritual.

In India, the tradition of jewellery making goes back over 5,000 years.

Silver, associated with the cool luminosity of the moon, and gold, aligned with the radiant energy of the sun. These metals weren’t chosen simply for their beauty — they were believed to hold elemental qualities.

The very first inspirations in Indian jewellery came from the natural world, flora and fauna, carved and shaped by hand into metal with exquisite skill.

Across time and culture, jewellery has always been more than ornamentation — it’s been language. A way of speaking without words. A form of expression, reverence, protection. A celebration of beauty and power, seen and unseen.

At Dew & Dawn, we believe jewellery is most powerful when worn with intention.

Our pieces are handcrafted by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Each design is unique — shaped by human hands. Slight variations in texture and form are gentle reminders that each piece carries a story within it.

For the woman who seeks to live with presence, our jewellery is a quiet daily reminder: even the smallest moments can be filled with intention. Adornment can be a ritual. A practice of self-connection.

Let your jewellery mirror who you’re becoming.

Let it be a symbol: of confidence, radiance, vitality, power, protection.

Whatever you need, you can infuse into your day, through something as simple, and as sacred, as what you choose to wear.

With gratitude,
